(Taken from laportesucks.com under the fair use policy.) La Porte County GOP Sends Election Day Spam There is unethical, and then there is The La Porte County GOP. On Sunday October 31, the Friends to Elect Ron Kinola campaign began sending spam entitled "La Porte County Voter's Resource Guide". Ron is the GOP candidate for La Porte County Commissioner District 3 seat. As most Indiana residents know, the act of sending spam is illegal under Indiana Code 24-5-22. Senders can be sued for up to $500.00 per message, and political parties aren't exempted. The spam was sent from a Microsoft Hotmail account, getoutandvote2004@hotmail.com. Please be sure to click on that e-mail link and remind the GOP not to send spam. Apparently they need a reminder. I have contacted La Porte County GOP Chairman David Pendergrast (send e-mail) and put him on notice that I have received the crap and will take legal action if his party chooses to send more of it. Be sure to send our friend Dave an e-mail and encourage him to have his staff market his party using only legal and ethical means of advertising. |
