My wife and I went to Max and Erma's in Merrillville, located just west of I-65 and Rte. 30. Their menu has a lot of variety, with burgers, steaks, pasta, salads, chicken, ribs; just about anything you'd want. The atmosphere is comfortable and it is easy to have a conversation. The service was very good.

The real treat was dessert. They will bake chocolate chip cookies while you enjoy your meal (you order them when you order your entree) and serve them warm on the cookie sheet. Fantastic!

I recommend giving this place a try.

Thanks for the heads-up. We've been to Max andErma's while traveling, but didn't know there was one so nearby!

I love ribs, but it seems that every other time we went there the ribs were good. What a shame, when there good there good and when they were not so good I couldn't eat them. Service was really good, and as a beer drinker they have a good selection.
