Mitch got this one right for a change. I'm surprised he didn't buckle under to the lobbying pressure from big business the way he does on pollution issues.

On Thursday, Gov. Mitch Daniels signed a bill allowing workers to keep firearms locked in their cars in trunks or out of sight while parked on company property. In a statement explaining his signature, Daniels said the law is "appropriate" to protect the right to bear arms guaranteed by the U.S. and Indiana constitutions."I also am compelled to give great weight to the overwhelming consensus of both Houses of the General Assembly as they passed this bipartisan statute," Daniels said in a statement. "The law does contain ambiguities that the General Assembly may wish to refine at some future date, to avoid unnecessary litigation, but the understandable concerns raised against the bill do not suffice to justify a trespass on a fundamental right so expressly protected by our founding documents."

Why did you buckle under and go to work for a company which in every way flies in the face of what you profess to believe? Not as much demand for sociology majors as you anticipated when you entered the course of study most often chosen by confused undergraduates and wealthy heiresses (Hey! Are you a wealthy heiress?)?
