Post subject:  Governor Daniels is in favor of a statewide smokinh ban

The Governor has said he will sign a smoking ban and that he will encourage the Senate to vote on the bill. A statewide smoking ban has passed the House in previous sessions. Charlie Brown said the bill he is planning on introducing this year will not contain exemptions.

Conservatives don't support the "nanny-state".

Here in Crown Point, 21 and over establishments are exempt, if it has to be done that seems like the saner way.

But you watch, the casinos have the clout and will be exempted, but the bars will not be.

And that is where it rubs me wrong.

If one invests one's capital into owning and operating a business, it should be the decision of the person who is risking the capital, and not the state.

He CAN'T RUN again. Mitch has been lame since he won re-election.

the Indiana Constitution has term limits for Governor for 2 consecutive 4 yr terms. He has to leave office after this term. Now he can run again after 4 yrs(like Evan Bayh may do, even though he claims otherwise) but he cannot run again in the next election

I agree. Although in public places such as parks, open areas when festivals are held, and public buildings such as courthouses and administrative buildings, there should be designated smoking areas AWAY from the entry doors.
