Legislative leaders declare right-to-work law top priority

INDIANAPOLIS | In a shot across the bow of organized labor, leaders of the Republican-controlled Indiana House and Senate declared Monday that passing a right-to-work law is their top legislative priority.

House Speaker Brian Bosma, R-Indianapolis, and Senate President David Long, R-Fort Wayne, said they will lead the effort to make Indiana the 23rd right-to-work state when the General Assembly convenes in January.

"Right-to-work means back to work for the unemployed," Bosma said. "While we are the envy of the Midwest in our job creation efforts, economic development experts tell us that removing the last barriers to job creation will help the quarter of a million unemployed Hoosiers get back to work."

Long said many companies planning to relocate will not even consider bringing their jobs to Indiana because it is not a right-to-work state.

Under a right-to-work law, nonunion members at an union workplace do not pay for union services they receive, such as collective bargaining.

It drives this whiny, spineless old hippie insane that folks can make their way in life without a union....because he couldn't. Just like it drives him insane that there are folks who, because of a better work ethic and a higher IQ, have more than he does.

MARK KIESLING: Right-to-work puts politics over practicality
Quote:
Right-to-work legislation, just to clarify, says that even when an employee enters a closed union shop he or she would not have to join the union but would be entitled to any benefits the unions won.

Quote:
So the argument being put forth that right-ork makes Indiana more attractive to business is almost a repudiation of Daniels' successes.

That makes it even better. You get the same benefits as the lazy union nosepickers...but don't have to make a donation to the Democratic Party every paycheck.......SWEET.

Daniels: Right-to-work will spark job growth

Union leaders quickly criticized Gov. Mitch Daniels on Thursday after the governor said he supports Indiana becoming a so-called “right-to-work” state.

The governor voiced his support in a written statement, then spoke to reporters later Thursday afternoon. Daniels said he’s been weighing the issue for a year and took the struggling national economy into account. He said it would be “irresponsible” not to act.

“I didn’t rush to this judgment and only came to it because in the way it has been costing us opportunities that I know we can capture,” Daniels said. He said “hundreds” of opportunities have been lost. “The point is we don’t see most of them. When we have a chance to compete, we have a good win rate.”

When pressed on the opportunities that have evaded Indiana, Daniels mentioned Hyundai and Volkswagen automakers. “They went looking and now we know why,” he said.

Daniels pointed to data from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. to substantiate his claims.

“When a business allows us to compete, we win two-thirds of the time. But between a quarter and a half of the time, we don’t make the first cut, due to this single handicap. Knowing how many additional jobs we could be capturing is what has persuaded me that we must enact this reform,” he said in the statement.

Oh maaaaaan,STUPID is on to us. I've begged my employer...just begged.... to take a regular extortion/ deduction from my check and religiously send it straight to the thugs running the union, the Democratic Party, Move-On, Acorn, and a whole host of organizations dedicated to the support of worthless parasites, and the election of politicians whose policies are directly opposite of mine ......and for my money.....get systemic protection in place for all the deadbeats, alcoholics, drug abusers, lazy asses, thieves, morons48/chuckmos, and assorted dregs that would happen to inhabit my place of employment if a union was in place...but aren't currently there because they get fired first.
Who wouldn't want that? Stupid.....you've done it again.
