Karin Mason, who ran for Crown Point mayor in 2007 and the Lake County Council in 2010, said she wants to defeat a proposal by the council to impose a 1.5 percent tax on the personal incomes of county residents and out-of-state residents working in Lake County. She said she understands county government is in need of additional revenues after Republican-inspired legislation has reduced taxes on which local government once relied. I must admit I was shocked when a little over 200 people attended the county council meeting..WTF..Where are all the less government people at? This will adversely affect the (vast) majority of us...I guess there was no talk of guns... |
