Remember when there used to be Christmas Carolers that came to your door at Christmas time?

I remember being young and my sister and our friends would go around to the neighbors homes and sing Christmas carols. I also remember going caroling with our church group. We would take the bus and go to different homes and neighborhoods and sing, sing, sing. I miss seeing that happen. I guess I don't necessarily want to be the one to go out and sing, but it would be nice to see some people on my stoop singing a carol or two.

Maybe our livestyles have gotten too busy for such a thing anymore. Looking at my own statement above maybe there is just a sort of apathy when it comes to caroling, we expect other to do it instead. Maybe it's a time thing- who has time to go sing, much less be sung to? Maybe with all the "pc"-ness going on, people are afraid to do so out of not wanting to offend? Or maybe it still goes on and I just don't witness it as much?

Sorry, just somethin' I got to thinkin' about tonight.

When my daughter was in elementary school, we had a caroling party.

Went up and down the street.

One old lady opened her door and slammed it shut. Scrooge!

Then we came back and I made hot chocolate for all of them....it was fun!

:D

This one sounds good and easy :D

Pop-a-rific Popcorn Balls

3 quarts popped popcorn, unsalted
1 (1-lb.) pkg. Marshmallows
1/4 cup butter or margarine

Place popped popcorn in a large bowl. In a large saucepan, cook marshmallows and butter or margarine over low heat until melted and smooth*. Pour over popcorn, tossing gently to mix well. Cool five minutes. Butter hands well and form 2 1/2 inch balls. Makes about 14 balls.

*to color the popcorn balls, add a few drops of food coloring to the smooth marshmallow mixture. Mix well to distribute color evenly, then pour over popcorn as instructed.

Yield: Makes about 14 balls.

He was a :pottytrain5: waste of paper...so we had some friends run in and steal all the rolls before he went in...hahahaha....I heard he got sucked down the drain when the automatic flusher went off, tiny little man he was, and now he lives in the sewer...gross. Also heard it's warm down there and you get used to the smell. You should try it and see for yourself...otherwise you might not appreciate it for what it's worth...know what I'm sayin'?
