Traverse City is a fun spot and Grayling Michigan it's been almost 30 years since I have been there but it was fun.

Look out for the bears and if you go 4 wheeling be careful the government has a lot of secret installations all over the place just goggle earth the area around Traverse city and every thing is a blur.

I attended the air show it was awesome. The Thunderbirds were amazing. If you listen to the broadcast at the same time, it adds so much more to the performance.

Well done Convention Bureau.

Gary air show gets ready to take off

June 9, 2010
BY CHELSEA SCHNEIDER KIRK, (219) 648-3072

In what's become an annual tradition, aerial stuntsmen and military aircraft will take to the skies over Marquette Park and Beach next month for Gary's South Shore Air Show.

The USAF Thunderbirds will headline the show in its 11th year July 9-11. New for this year, the Friday evening show will take place at Marquette Park instead of the Gary/Chicago International Airport. Cline Avenue's closure didn't impact the decision to move the Friday night event, according to South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority President and CEO Speros Batistatos. Cline serves as a direct route to the Gary airport.

Organizers felt having all three days of the show in one place was more efficient. Spectators will also have the chance to see the Thunderbirds practice at 3:30 p.m. Friday with the night show kicking off at 6 p.m.

"In a time now where finances are difficult to come by, the convention bureau does a tremendous job knocking on doors and asking people to support this project," said Gary Mayor Rudy Clay on Tuesday at a news conference touting the air show. "I just came out to say thank you."

Batistatos estimates 300,000 to 350,000 people will visit the air show this year with half of those spectators coming from outside of Northwest Indiana.

"We have created the largest destination event in Northwest Indiana," he said. "It's heads and shoulders above the rest."

The Gary Police Department will also crack down on parking in Gary's Miller neighborhood this year, and those attempting to charge for parking will receive tickets.

All attendees are encouraged to park in official parking areas for the air show. Premium parking at Marquette Park is available for $20. Free parking and shuttle service is available at the air show's official parking lot at Majestic Star Casinos & Hotel and two parking locations along U.S. 20.

Along with the Thunderbirds, the U.S. Army Golden Knights, U.S. Navy F-18 Super Hornet, among others, will perform.

Something like trolling a thread just to drag it off topic?

Yeah you should probably address that. I'm sick of trying to participate just to have you trolling all of the threads.
