HAMMOND | A case of H1N1 (swine flu) has been confirmed at Purdue University Calumet.

Purdue officials released a statement Monday saying a student with flu-like symptoms came to Purdue Calumet's Student Health Services Center on Thursday. After being examined by the center's director, Maureen Panares, the student was instructed to leave campus and remain home pending official diagnosis of the ailment.

The Indiana State Department of Health confirmed H1N1 Monday morning. The student remains off campus. Purdue officials said the student does not appear to have a serious case of the illness. They said the student is doing well and expected to make a full recovery.
