Northwest Indiana Discussion

I am using my mothers account as of right now because mine will NOT WORK. However I am writing this post to let everyone know that there is a school board meeting tonight at 7pm. Today is Wednesday May, 20, 2009 at Lincoln Elementary schoool. Lincoln Elementary school is located at the following address 4221 Towle Ave Hammond Indiana 46327. They are wanting to change the boundries of Irving Elementary school. I live near Columbia Ave, by the new Lang Ice company. They want my Two (2) children to go to Lincoln Elementary school as of next August. And if you live so far on calumet ave you will have to send your children to West Lafayette school. As of this point. If need be my oldest could walk to my mothers from school, because she only lives about 3 1/2 blocks away and she could see him almost the entire way. I can even walk them too and from school because I have in the past. If they change the boundries of whether or not you can go to Irving. And my two children have to go to Lincoln I would be unable to walk them to school, if something happened to my car and I was unable to drive them. Now I am not saying that Irving is the greatest school in Hammond, however my Oldest will be in 3rd grade next year and my youngest will be in kindergarten as of August 2009. And my oldest knows Irving and knows the teachers. HE knows the Speech teacher, he is comfortable with the speech teacher. He will be able to help his younger brother learn Irving. I am asking ANY PARENTS or ANY GRANDPARENTS or for that matter for ANYONE who thinks that they SHOULD NOT change the boundries to please attend the school board meeting tonight at 7pm at Lincoln Elementary school again that is at 4221 Towle Ave Hammond Indiana 46327. And Again I am using my MOthers account because mine would not work. So if you do not like the post it is not my mother the one that usually posts under this name. Thanks

Changing boundaries without offering bus service?

This is the real martha.

I went to the school board meeting tonight.

All parents who spoke were against the change of boundries. Don't you know they will supply bus service.

Don't you know the principles of the schools were suppose to send letters to the parents whose kids
attend Irving. Well the principle didn't.

According to the school board, the principles of the
different schools put in for the boundry changes.

Principle said no, we didn't do it. So somebody is
fibbing.

Bottom line: school b oard didn't care what the parents had to say. They voted to change the boundries.

Yeah Every one is too blame and NO one is acceoting the balme they are all pointing fingers. Well someone has to be at blame. They say they will supply bus service, however some of the schools that they want to send the kids too. Are not ANY better then Irving. Some are actually worse then Irving. So I guess we will have to see what happens. The parents have voiced their opioions but we didn't get any where. But I kinda figured going in we were going to lose the first battle. But of course that does NOT mean we WILL NOT WIN THE WAR.

The catch 22 on the school bus service, is that you have to transport your child to their original school, and then they take the bus from THERE to the other school. Also, they only supply transportation for 2 years. My sister-in-law sent one of her kids to Edison from Wallace. Every day, she had to send her child to Wallace, the childs home school, to catch a bus to Edison. The transportation was only good for 2 years. She transfered her child back to Wallace.

Well they can supply transportation for two (2) years if they want, because if I have my way my children won't need buses to get to school. I am not getting anywhere with the principal. And I have to watch my self around him, I do not want to get in to trouble with him, more then I am already am. So There is always another way to get the answers you need or want. And there are more then one resource to use. So that is what I am planning on doing.
