Two churches hit by copper thieves
DOWNSPOUTS MISSING FROM TWO LANSING CHURCHES
LANSING | Two Lansing churches were the targets of copper thieves who have made off with several pieces of copper downspouts.
The most recent report was filed Thursday by the First United Methodists Church, at 18420 Burnham Ave., where bout $200 worth of the copper material was taken, police said. It was the third time the church has been hit since late December.
A similar report was filed late last month by St. Ann's Church, 3010 Ridge Road. Estimates are still coming in for the metal material that was stolen there.
Police are checking out salvagers in the area.
"Obviously, stealing from a church is somewhat low on the scale," Lansing Det. Lt. Dan Sylvester said. "If anybody happens to know anything, we ask that they call the department."

I wonder why there is so much to say when it happens in Gary but not in your neck of the woods?
All the years of ridicule we had to endure because of high unemployment while you were riding your high horses now it has come to plague you communities and trust me this is just the tip of the iceberg prepare yourselves to wear the badges of shame that you have painted on those less fortunate than yourselves.
