I-65 ramp closure, Borman lane restrictions planned
Several lane and ramp restrictions along the Borman Expressway and Interstate 65 are planned as part of the Indiana Department of Transportation's project to expand lanes there, officials said Thursday.
Starting Oct. 29, the ramp from southbound I-65 to westbound I-80/94 will be closed to allow crews to rebuild it to tie into the expanded lanes on the Borman. That closure is expected to be in place until May.
Traffic on I-65 will be directed to eastbound I-80/94, northbound on Ind. 51 and back to westbound I-80/94.
Rolling closures are planned in the westbound lanes during the day today and Saturday so crews can place beams on a new bridge over Central Avenue. During the rolling closures, traffic in all lanes is slowed through the construction area. The rolling closures are planned for 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. today and 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.
On Monday, the two right westbound lanes will be closed between Interstate 65 and the Martin Luther King Drive bridge beginning at 9 p.m. so crews can repair pavement there.
