Can anyone else confirm or deny the following persistent rumor?
According to numerous individuals that would be considered members of the Gary establishment; the lady in question is not supposed to be the late Eloise Gentry's sister. Instead, she is said to be her daughter.

Someone must know for sure.

If this is true, it may not change her eligibility for office, but it would certainly help to explain her apparent penchant for what would on the surface seem to be fraudulent activities.

If she is lying about her entire existence, a little old thing like falsifying an application for a driver's license probably doesn't seem like a big deal to her, right?

Someone who has got nothing to hide, shouldn't have to run out and retain a prominent criminal attorney to talk to the press. If she is innocent, she should be able to talk to the press and the public herself!

I didn't copy any link but old Times stories said the late Eloise Gentry was head of the Urban League in Gary and honored for her activities there.
Also, she owned a day care in Gary that was sued for $30 million, when one of her van drivers had an accident in which a little kid was killed.
I have no clue what Seaton has to do with her.

This is probably in bad taste; but here it is: (read the part where the siblings are listed)

ELOISE GENTRY
Northwest, Indiana

President/Chief Executive Officer of the Urban League of Northwest Indiana, Inc. quietly transitioned from an earthly life to one an eternal life on Thursday, August 20, 2009. First and foremost Eloise Gentry was an EDUCATOR. For more than seventeen years she worked in the Gary Community School Corporation classrooms. She inspired students at Charles Drew Elementary School and at Dale Hale Williams Elementary School. Her excellence in motivating and bring out the best in her students and her professionalism made her a much sought after Supervising Teacher. Her exceptional record led her to be chosen as the first Executive Director of the Gary Community Coordinated Child Care Association (4Cs) in 1970, which evolved into the City of Gary Office of Children and Family Services with her as the Executive Director where she remained from 1973 until 1978. Both organizations were designed to ensure that children in Gary received a quality pre-school education experience and that they were well armed with the necessary tools to succeed in their educational careers. While in this position Eloise developed the curriculum guides used in the Gary Community School Corporation for early childhood education, day care center, nursery schools and Head Start. Her proficiency in all aspects of early childhood education made her a most sought after Lecturer, In-Service Coordinator, Facilitator, and Guest Speaker. She has served as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana State University, Clark Atlanta University, Georgia State University, and University of Northern Colorado. She has written and contributed to numerous professional articles. She became the first, and only female to serve as the President/Chief Executive Officer of the Urban League of Northwest Indiana June, 1978. It was then she was "born" into her second family of phenomenally dedicated brothers and sisters in the Movement. Under her insightful leadership the activities of the local affiliate became more regional in focus as minorities began moving into Gary's neighboring communities. As the President/Chief Executive Officer she has spearheaded the involvement of parents in the stellar Read and Rise Initiative- a National Urban League program developed to ensure that all students read at or above grade level by the Third Grade. The Affiliate has inducted more than ten thousand students into the Thurgood Marshall/Academic Achievers Society, and annually recognizes the academic achievements of students throughout Northwest Indiana. Leading one of only two Urban League affiliates with Block Clubs she has made the local Federation of Block Clubs a strong unified group of concerned and empowered citizens. Her untiring work to eradicate drug pushers in a local housing development caused her to be nominated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to be the recipient of the Citizen Volunteer Service Award-Hearts So Big Award which was awarded by the United Stated Justice Department and was presented by then U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno at a special awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 24, 1998. Understanding health care disparities she organized an Annual Health Fair that educates as well as offers life saving tests. Ever the educator the Annual Scholarship Fair has served as the conduit for in excess of fifty million dollars in scholarships awarded to area students since its inception. She is equally active nationally having served on numerous Urban League President/CEO Selection Committees; she represented the Affiliate as a Delegate to the National Convention for thirty years, Eloise, as a Member of the prestigious Quarter Century Club, worked tirelessly to celebrate the longevity of the people dedicated to the Movement. She was a Member of the Academy of Executives whose purpose it is to mentor, encourage and to uplift new President/CEOs. She has been an unfailing supporter of the Guild locally and nationally. She was a Golden Life Member of the National Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority-where she has actively served as the Anti-Basileus (Vice President) of the Gamma Psi Omega Chapter, Membership Chairman, Chair of the Annual Ebony Fashion Show, and Chair of Miss Fashionetta, a life-long and active member of Greater St. James A.M.E. Church where she developed the concept of a Junior Church. She was responsible for the choir, ushers, and the Youth Organization. Eloise was the sponsor for the cheerleaders and was a staunch supporter of the basketball teams that played in the Baber Youth Center. Always the teacher, she was a Sunday School teacher for over twenty years, and proudly wore her twenty plus years of perfect attendance pin. She was a member of Altrusa, Phi Delta Kappa sorority, and together with her Novellae Novem sisters solved the world problems over the bridge table. On Thursday, August 20, 2009 Eloise quietly transitioned into Eternity. She leaves to carry on her work sister, Erma Gentry (Charles) Brasfield, of St. Louis, Missouri; brother, Franklin (Sandra) Gentry of Merrillville, Indiana; sister, Carol-Ann Seaton of Gary, Indiana; and her sister and brother, CEOs in the Urban League Movement; aunt, Mary Trotter, Detroit Michigan; daughter of the heart, Jacqueline (Neil) McMillan of New York City; god-daughter, Joi Lynn (George) Brown of Appleton, Wisconsin; nephew, Charles Anthony Brasfield of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Algie M. Jordan, Dakota, Rose Smith, Darryl Jordan, Denita Jordan, all of Gary, Indiana; special cousins, Doris (James) Gray, LeRoy (Euletta) Rhodes, Bernice Bonner, Shirley Woodson Reid, all of Detroit, Michigan, Jewel Sherrell, Wendell Sherrell, Paul Sherrell, Ann Collier all of Tennessee, Ruth Ann Hart, Lynne Smith, and Damien Smith of Indianapolis, IN, Sharron Hightower Liggins of Gary, Indiana; forever friends, Connie (John) Hill, Imogene (Elmer) Edwards, and Dozier T. Allen, Jr.; special friend, Kenneth Phillips; and the person she depended on and trusted back, Bonita Jordan. Visitation Friday, August 28, 2009 12:00 Noon until 8:00 p.m. Family Hour from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greater St. James A.M.E. Church 2601 Massachusetts Street, Gary, Indiana 46407. The Celebration of Her Life, Saturday, August 29, 2009 11:00 a.m. at First A.M. E. Church 2001 Massachusetts Street Gary, Indiana 46407. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made either to: Urban League of Northwest Indiana, Inc. 3101 Broadway Gary, Indiana 46408 or to the Eloise Gentry Memorial Scholarship Fund, 3101 Broadway Gary, Indiana 46408. Professional services rendered by Guy & Allen Funeral Directors Inc.

This concludes Part 1 of the mystery. Part 2 to follow in due time.

Could you highlight what you want us to be interested in (and tell us why we should care)?

I don't claim to know much about genetics, but I'm pretty good at using "Google". Let's look at a few dates:
William C Seaton - Born January, 1888/ Died 1953
Glenden Eloise Gentry - Born Nov 1932/ Died 2009
Carol Ann Seaton - Born 1948 (approximate based on current age of 62)
Now, William would have been 44 when Eloise was born and 60 when Carol Ann was born. Likewise, Eloise would have been 16 when her sister (?) was born. One of the papers has been kind enough to fill us in on details of the birth certificate indicating that William was the father, but they failed to mention who the mother was. You can all probably do the math from there.
Karen - I think that was what you were referring to in your post. Ms. Seaton's entire life seems to be full of mystery, why should it be any different now?
