Mike Gentry, head of the House Republican Conference Committee (HRCC), claimed that a poll taken by the HRCC showed that Dan Klein would soundly defeat Shelli Vandenberg for State Representative in House District 19.

But in the May 4, 2010 primary, Vandenberg spent very little and got 3,000 votes while the HRCC spent $75,000 to $100,000 for Klein to get 2,000 votes.

Was Mike Gentry simply lying?

Mike Gentry from Indianapolis would never lie to us, "the small people," here in Northwest Indiana.

I think the small people, here in NWI, should get to choose our own representatives - not the big honchos in Indianapolis choose them for us. I mean they are supposed to represent us.

It is hard to believe that a recent poll shows Klein leading Vandenberg. There have been no polls since the May 4 election, and unless the Dem's are planning on throwing the election Klein is probably not leading.

There were about 3000+ votes cast in each of the Democratic and GOP District 19 primaries and Vandenberg received 3,000 votes, while Klein received only 2,000 votes (66% as many as Vandenberg).
