Why do you hint that there are illegals at El Taco Real just because Mr. Garcia doesn't support the Arizona law?

I don't like it either and I'm not Hispanic nor do I have any Hispanic employees.

I wonder if Mr. Garcia is aware that Mexicos immigration laws are even stricter than ours.

And they're demanding WE LOOSEN OURS UP!

this guy is misinformed or just plain ignorant on so many levels it's a joke....any of what little of their earnings illegals MIGHT pay into rent or sales taxes scarcely makes a dent, if any, in the huge debts they have racked up in our country.

Which they have no intention of covering by the way.

Have you ever been to his restaurant? It's a nice place. People wait to get in.
It's been paying property taxes for decades now, and the people who work there do too. They buy groceries and household supplies and pay taxes on them, just like everyone else.
Garcia is no dummy. He has a different opinion than you, that's all.

Great.
Then they should go through the legal process to gain citizenship - just like everyone else.
Right?
That's all anyone is asking.
Why do you have a problem with that?

Well if he expects me to believe that illegals are paying their fair share into the system then I would have to argue that point.

and I don't suspect he's going to make any points with the Arizonians talking down to them the way he did.

I meant he's smart enough to open a restaurant in North Hammond (Not the world's most upscale area) and make a success of it for many years.

From the article:

You argue that what you want is for these people to follow the law. I agree with you on that one. However, has it occurred to you that maybe the law is wrong?

When the United States was dry during Prohibition, it was against the law to drink or produce alcohol. After several years of that unfortunate experiment, the wise people of our country decided to change the law.

Our laws are not written in stone. They change in a process that over time shapes our society.

I agree wholeheartedly.
If enough people believe that the law is wrong, the legislative process may be used to change the law.
But until the law changes, enforce it.

SOMETHING THAT TRASH IN THE WHITE HOUSE REFUSES TO DO.

If Mr. Garcia loses business due to the condescending and sarcastic tone of his letter, that would be unfortunate, because his restaurant is excellent. But he could have just as easily made his point in a more diplomatic manner.

Kind of makes you wonder why no one has been protesting that federal law all these years, doesn't it?
What is it exactly about the Arizona law that is driving people nuts?

They don't have a clue.

but it's because obama doesn't like that's why.

these dumb useful idiots are coming out of the woodwork. These people were dumb enough to elect this pos without any vetting whatsoever. His entire past is a secret. he has spent millions protecting his birth certificate from the public eye.

I have yet to see one argument that even comes close to standing up against the Arizona law.

just wtf is wrong with these people?

here is your answer.

From what I understand Missouri passed a law about 5 years ago, making English the only language official in the state. It is actually stricter in Missouri.

While I have no problem with legal immigration I do have problem with people that are allowed to break the LAW and get away with it.

If you used someone elses social security number to get services or work you as an American Citizen would be arrested for fraud. I know someone that used her sisters social security number to get nipsco and was charged with theft and fraud. She had no credit so couldn't get heat turned on for her children. Although I sympathized with her situation it was still illegal and she had no right to do it. She was charged so where is the difference??

Did anyone hear the whole story I heard a snippet of the other day?

There is a plan to require ALL Americans, legal or not, to have a retina scan taken by the government to provide positive ID for all.

Just as I predicted.
