It's becoming a lot like Gary !

Oh my my !

Remember Walter Jacobson " another senseless tragedy"

Is it safe with so many losing everything?

I think there are many more nut cases that are cracking out in the sticks with all those weapons they were going to use on the people from the inner cities when the food runs out and they came looking for food and shelter in their neck of the woods in a national disaster.

Nut cases killing their wives and neighbors after they get some bad financial news they just can't help themselves and go kill a couple of their neighbors that are doing good for the hell of it!

Image

The thought of having to have to live like inner city people makes jack come out of the box with his whole arsenal!

Lynwood cop in custody in connection with bi-state shootings

RETE | A Lynwood police officer is being held on $2.5 million bond in connection with this week's bi-state shootings after police served a warrant for his arrest at his Crete home Friday morning, officials said.

Brian Dorian, 37, was arrested at his home in the 900 block of Arlington Lane in unincorporated Crete Township, the Will County prosecutor's office said.

Dorian is a police officer in Lynwood and formerly served as a Lansing police officer.

He left the Lansing police force due to the requirement that officers live within the village limits, police sources said.

While off duty in 2006, he was involved in a crash that killed Dylan D. Drapeau, 17, of Crete. He was never charged with a crime in connection with the accident, but was cited for speeding.

David Palmer, who served as Lynwood police chief from 1994 to 2008, said Friday morning he was shocked and saddened at the news of Dorian being taken into custody in connection with the shootings.

Dorian served as a police officer under Palmer twice, leaving for a brief stint as a Lansing officer before returning to the Lynwood force.

Palmer said Dorian was on disability for a bad shoulder for the last year and a half. As an officer, Palmer said Dorian was one of the best.

"He was a good, investigative policeman and I never had any complaints about him from the public," Palmer said. "When he came back after the crash, he was a little more subdued, he was a little more reclusive."

No formal charges in this week's shootings have been filed against Dorian at this time, the Will County prosecutor's office said. Calls to current Lynwood Police Chief Russell Pearson were not returned early Friday.

Lansing Police Chief Dennis Murrin said Friday afternoon Dorian worked for his department from 2003 to 2005.

"We never had any disciplinary action against him," Murrin said, declining further comment on Friday's developments.

Lake County Sheriff Rogelio "Roy" Dominguez said any charges coming from Lake County would be attempted murder and robbery charges, but Lake County officials are deferring to Will County in their investigation.

Dominguez said Friday that his detectives along with those from the Will County Sheriff's Department served an arrest warrant at a home in Crete and took a person of interest into custody there.

"Our detectives were out there all night and all morning," Dominguez said.

Dorian's neighbors, Meyer and Raeanne Sparks, said that Dorian had lived in the unassuming ranch-style home across from them for about 10 years. They noticed increased police activity over a 24-hour period until, shortly after midnight Friday, about 30 officers went in.

"They all just bum-rushed the house," Meyer Sparks said.

Pat Barry, spokesman for the Will County Sheriff's Department, cautioned that the investigation is ongoing.

"This is still a very active investigation," Barry said, adding that further details are likely to be released in 3 p.m. press conference in Joliet.

Police officers who worked with Dorian reacted with shock at the news of his arrest Friday. Some said the officer looked confused in his booking mug shot and did not look like the officer who worked alongside them.

Police said a man approached employees from Dyer-based Rich Construction who were working in Washington Township, Ill., near Beecher around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and shot and killed Rolando Alonso, 45, of Hammond and wounded Josh Garza, 19, of Dyer.

About an hour later, police said, the gunman drove up to the property of Keith Dahl, 64, a farmer living south of Lowell near 201st and Cline avenues and shot him after talking to him about honeybees.

Dahl and Garza remained hospitalized for their injuries.

Laura Gonzalez, sister-in-law of Alonso, said Friday morning the family was pleased to hear there had been an arrest in the case.

"At least somebody won't have to go through what we're going through," Gonzalez said, adding that her family was preparing for Alonso's funeral today.

The shootings prompted a bi state manhunt that closed Lowell-area schools and placed others on lock-down.

On Thursday, Lake and Will county sheriff's police announced the formation of a bi state task force to try to capture the suspect and issued an updated police sketch of the suspect in hopes of getting help from the public in finding him.

POST-TRIBUNE STAFF REPORT

A 37-year-old Crete man has been charged in connection with the two-state shooting spree that left one man dead and two others wounded.

Brian Dorian, a Lynwood cop on administrative leave, was booked into Will County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder, the Will County Sheriff’s Department confirmed.

A man was arrested in Lynwood early Friday in connection with the two-state shooting spree that left one dead and two others wounded.

The suspect was arrested about 1 a.m. in Lynwood, Lake County Police Chief Marco Kuyachich said. The Illinois resident matches the suspect's description, he said.

Though police received several tips, Kuyachich said a traffic stop made by an Indiana police officer led to a break in the case. He said officers stopped every truck that matched the description of the suspect's truck.

"At each stop that we made, we identified the individuals who were occupying the vehicles," Kuyachich said. "It led us to further look into it."

Pat Barry, spokesman for the Will County Sheriff's Department, confirmed the arrest but refused to release any further information.

Lake County Sheriff Roy Dominguez said the creation of a joint task force to track the suspect “just worked great,” allowing officials to share information instantaneously.

“These guys just worked as one unit,” Dominguez said.

Dominguez said his department worked overnight, following Will County’s lead. He said he would be meeting soon with Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter to determine what kind of charges the suspect will face in Indiana.

“We’ll determine that, and obviously our detectives will let us know the information that they’ve received,” Dominguez said.

An officer who answered the phone at the Lynwood Police Department said the department had no information to release.

Charles Pelkie, spokesman for the Will County state's attorney's office, said formal charges have yet to filed.

The shooting spree began about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at a house being renovated near Beecher and about 40 minutes later at a farmhouse near Lowell, Ind.

The task force on Thursday released an updated sketch of the killer and a more detailed description of his vehicle - a light gray or light blue 1995 or 1998 Chevrolet Cheyenne.

Will County Sheriff Paul Kaupas and Lake County Sheriff Roy Dominguez asked their communities to assist their departments in finding the suspect. Dominguez said the killer's movements and actions indicate that he's familiar with the area, but police don't know if he's still in the region.

"We're doing our very best to apprehend the person," he said. "We need their help. This person, people know who he is. We need their help to apprehend him. We need their help so he doesn't victimize another citizen of ours, a loved one, a relative."

Both sheriffs said their departments have received many tips since the shootings, but so far they have led nowhere.

The killer - described as white, heavyset and in his 40s - last was seen driving north on Cline Avenue from the Lowell-area farmhouse where he wounded farmer Keith Dahl, 63, who was in his truck, after striking up a conversation about bee farming. Dahl is in serious condition at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point.

Dahl, who was shot three times in his left shoulder and arm, told police the man started making small talk with him and the shooting happened so quickly it caught him off guard. The man also robbed Dahl of $60.

An analysis of the bullets collected at the shooting scenes showed they are similar, leading police to believe they were fired from the same weapon.

In Washington Township near Beecher, the gunman shot and killed Rolando Alonso, 45, and also shot Joshua Garza, 19, both of Hammond, as they worked to restore a fire-damaged house. The funeral for Alonso is today.

Garza was taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where officials declined to comment Thursday on his con

According to G'Man it's white crackers. The funny thing is, "when suburban people go berserk" it's a news story and an isolated incident. When a murder takes place in Gary it's another day in da hood.

When state lines are crossed, the FBI gets jurisdiction.

Get your stories straight. Dorien isn't married. Had been several years ago but it didn't last. No kids.
