Can anyone bring me up to speed who these two jokers are and what they did to make Chairman Mao make the comments which eventually got the Times board shut down?

Vuko and LaFever complain to police about Times Internet post

Porter County Auditor Sandra Vuko and Porter County Assessor Shirley LaFever have filed a complaint with the Porter County Sheriff’s Police after a contributor to the Times Internet discussion board posted what the official report calls “disparaging remarks.”


According to police, at 9:55 a.m. Nov. 5 a contributor identifying himself or herself as “Chairman Mao” posted the opinion that Vuko and LaFever “should be dragged out into the streets and shot.”


Police said that the contributor does not actually threaten to do so himself or herself but that Vuko and LaFever nevertheless both consider the posting a credible threat.

JI just got off the phone with Cheleste(sp?) from the Times.

They're denying this had anything to do with McD and the prof and the Porter County "threat" in and of themselves and insist that it is a handful of individuals who abuse the boards with personal attacks and threats. I explained that we are pretty certain that McD had something to do with this since that was the first thread pulled right before the entire board came down.

They want a message board that is professional, family oriented and (from what I perceive) straight out of Mayberry.

I told her they aren't a fluff paper like the CalPress and that we can, and do, police our own. We are a community of different personalities that have informational, indepth, sometimes even heated discussions, but we have learned to live with each other and also wish we had that ignore button.

She agreed.

I explained to her that we have found another venue, but we want our old stomping grounds back, our past conversations and our seniority. She was unaware people were posting to their experimental board and asked for the URL this forum so she could let us know if and when the status of the old board changes.

We also discussed Chairman Mao (not in a negative manner), freetime, her deep relationship with big unit, Hispanic Hero and, of course, that expressZEROSEX kid.
