Mayors David Uran of Crown Point, George Pabey of East Chicago and Rudy Clay of Gary have been a disaster for Northwest Indiana.

The number of for-sale signs on houses, home foreclosures and empty storefronts in Crown Point, East Chicago and Gary are proof of Uran's, Pabey's and Clay's inability to bring jobs and economic development.

At the same time, a Crown Pointer has brought a $500,000,000 solar panel plant to Tipton, Indiana with a 900,000 square foot assembly plant and 850 new jobs.

Boy, did Crown Pointers lose the last mayor's election when Uran was elected.

The only jobs that ruthless group you speak of, will only worry about jobs for their relatives. Plain and simple.
The downfall of the economy was aparent in Lake County long before we realised it.
If you go through the Lake County Complex in Crown Point, you find a large majority of the job holders either large or small, never worked a single day without taxpayer support. Look how fat John Petlas has gotten over the years. Around the waist and in the pocketbook.

Wow. Tipton must have proximity to Chicago and Lake Michigan, some Dunes, a minor league baseball team, access to a major rail hub, a Gary Airport, unparalleled institutions of higher learning nearby, and an award-winning robotics team that no one else knows about. Maybe they have an "economic guru"/secret weapon like Matt Reardon working for them.

Nope!

Tipton has competent leadership that understands and can work with businessmen to help them build their company.

Tipton does not have pay-to-play, kickback begging politicians like Crown Point, East Chicago and Gary.

Boy, that last junket by David Uran and his cronies to Las Vegas at Crown Point taxpayers' expense really brought back a lot of economic development. What Crown Point needs is a few more city attorneys to work on the Plasmatronics lawsuit and spend $300,000 of city funds to recover $10,000.

I've never seen so many "for sale" signs on houses in Crown Point or empty stores or malls.

Uran and his cronies are running Crown Point right down the toilet.

South County meeds to beware of so called Republicans such as the "economic guru" Matt Reardon. Who was raised in Crown Point. But now is married to a northern Lake County big government State Rep.Mara Candelaria Reardon. They are attempting to bring the northern lake county style of politics south. It is funny how Mara and her husband live in the most Republican controlled community of Munster. Yet all she does is make critical comments of Republicans. She and her family can always move to Gary,East Chicago,Hammond,Whiting etc...

There is a foreclosure sign on the corner of East and North Streets and a for sale sign at $69,900. I've never seen that before in downtown Crown Point. There are for sale signs on almost every block.

Uran and Keith Stevens better take another junket at taxpayer expense to Las Vegas to bring back some more Uran-style economic development - None.

Maybe we ought to throw their butts out of the mayor's office next year and bring in Gayle Van Sessen who is bringing top quality economic growth to Tipton. Uran and Keith Stevens can't do squat.

Will GVS be running for mayor again?

I voted for her before and would vote for her again.

She'd have a much better chance without that swine Klien's fingerprints all over the manipulation of the election.

I had to vote for a democrat earlier this month to make sure he wasn't elected as state rep.

As Uran, Keith Stevens and Dave Nicholls run Crown Point down the toilet, people are beginning to realize just how much damage Dan Klein & Co. did to Crown Point by aggressively supporting the totally unqualified Uran after Klein was beaten in the 2007 GOP primary by GVS.

The fact is that Crown Point and the other cities of Northwest Indiana need competent leadership like the kind Crown Point had before Metros. Just electing some corrupt Lake County Democrat won't work.

David Uran is the Carol Ann Seaton of Northwest Indiana mayors.

Property values in Crown Point are going down the toilet. There is even a foreclosure sign with a $69,900 price tag on the house at North and East streets across from the CP School Corp. Administrative building.

It is essential for the survival of Northwest Indiana's economy and Crown Point specifically to replace the inept Democrat politicians with competent leaders.

If the present leaders continue milking the city and providing no credible economic development, property values will continue to decline until there is nothing left to save.

For what reasons, if any, would you prefer GVS over Uran?
