Get him fixed, Freetime. And I would have the front claws taken out as well.

Have you given him a stuffed animal to play with...?

Many times cats will take out their aggression on a stuffed animal and you can buy them SUPER cheap at any Salvation Army Thrift Store.

We saved a kitten this summer and he's grown to be real character.
It's funny to watch him play with our Yellow Lab who could bite him in half if she wished to do so.

I really hope you can turn him around.
Exercise is very important especially if he hasn't been fixed.

I WILL get him fixed soon but I WON'T get him declawed. I don't believe in that. My bigger cat, which I also rescued from outside, was already declawed on all 4 paws and neutered when I found him.
Yes, the little guy has lots of toys.
Unfortunately, his favorite playthings are me and my computer cables. He has also shredded an old couch and chair.
I just locked him out of my office again today.

That's right. Removing the claws is quite a serious procedure, and my furniture isn't that special either. Getting rid of the "boys" isn't nearly as serious, although he may not agree.
The neuter scooter is coming to the Hammond Civic Center March 11, and it's only $40 shots included if you pay ahead of time by credit card. Cats only.
My mom has offered to pay because she's really glad to be rid of this guy.
I didn't shut my office door tightly before I went out today, and he shredded my city casino report into confetti. He also climbed up onto the highest shelf and got the toilet paper again too in the bathroom.
I hope I can survive the next month!

Yes, he was found outside so I guess he does have a lot of feral blood in him.
I'm hoping the neutering will calm him down a lot.
He is a very pretty boy and I do want to keep him. My older cat was also found outside. He was hiding in my backyard and meowing for something to eat (he is completely declawed, poor kitty, so not much chance of him catching anything to eat.)He must have run off or been thrown out of his home. I've had him more than 5 years now and he is really sweet. I hope Baby Tiger eventually comes around too.
I've always had rescue cats. They seem to be so grateful for the second chance.

Yeah, I don't agree with the declawing either. It takes away some of their natural defense and makes them skiddish, I think. That is the last thing that little guy needs!

You sure are a sweetie! :smt049 :cat:

There are pro and con arguments about declawing.

Our Crazy Jack (the kids call him Jack-Jack) was a small kitten just trying to stay alive when he came to me.

I took him in, got his shots, had him neutered, and then had him declawed (just the front) and he does very well. He needs no defenses because he stays indoors for the most part and is supervised when we take him outside.

Our 95 lb yellow lab (Kate) tolerates him even when he ambushes her...

And I agree with Freetime, I think Crazy Jack is very grateful for the life we have given him.

Sounds like an elaborate McTeam conspiracy. Better get a backgound check on your cat.

Maybe you've got a point, Enrico.
He disconnects my computer, so I can't get info online (if it is available to start with)
Then he shreds the hard copy of the report.
The only flaw in the theory is the $200 the city just fined my mom for feeding stray cats.
If there was a Mcteam conspiracy, they wouldn't be trying to discourage her from being kind to kitties who may end up in my house.

 I'm not that thin-skinned, Screech.

I certainly agree that if a cat is going to be outside (I don't like cats running loose around the neighborhood, but I digress....) then by all means, they need their defenses.

I just don't want him hunting and catching the birds that I feed.......

You would laugh if you saw him ambush Kate.....

He'll hide behind furniture and when she walks by, he'll jump out and "attack" her. Sometimes she barks at him but he doesn't care. I'm not really a cat person but when he came to me, I called the city and they said they would keep him for a week and if nobody claimed him, they would "dispose" of him..... :(

I figured the little guy didn't do anything to deserve "disposal" so I thought the wife and kids might want to keep him........

So I got to be the hero for saving "Crazy Jack", Jack got a new home, the kids and wife got a real character to play with and love, and Kate got someone to bug her on a daily basis.

Never a dull moment around our house..... :smt006

Yes they do. I had a shiny black female rescue cat for 15 years, and no day went by when she didn't vocally greet me from the top of my stairs when I returned home.
I had a tiny little white female rescue (during different years) who woke me up by patting my face when a candle I had lit on my nightstand started a smoky fire. She was a catch and fetch kitty, and we had so much fun playing ball! It just looked so cool to see a cat jump in the air and snag her toy when I threw it to her. Then she would bring it to me and drop it in front of me just like any good dog.
:)
