Conservatives Finish 2009 as No. 1 Ideological Group
Uptick owing largely to more independents calling themselves conservative
by Lydia Saad

PRINCETON, NJ -- The increased conservatism that Gallup first identified among Americans last June persisted throughout the year, so that the final year-end political ideology figures confirm Gallup's initial reporting: conservatives (40%) outnumbered both moderates (36%) and liberals (21%) across the nation in 2009.

More broadly, the percentage of Americans calling themselves either conservative or liberal has increased over the last decade, while the percentage of moderates has declined.

Well now, since we're quoting Gallup...

Gallup Daily: Obama Job Approval-52%

Hey Arc, that means there are moderates, conservatives & independents that approve of what Obama is doing.

Bet that makes you feel all warm & fuzzy, yes?

Why?
Because they realize that the dems will be a minority very soon.

The only thing that poll proves is the majority of americans are economically stupid. The only news they rely on is the mainstream media's reports of the stock market improving and endless government blather that the economy is getting better.

The truth is things are getting slightly better, only because they couldn't get any worse. Many metrics have marginally improved because they have bounced off record lows.

The stock market has improved because institutional money has to go "somewhere". Also an increase in profits due to expense cutting and exports. Cuts to the bottom line yield 1 time profits and the only way to consistently boost profits is an increase in revenue. The broad market is going to have an increasingly hard time accomplishing that profit. Look out below when it grinds to a halt. Low stock market volumes, easy money and the possibility that the government bought stock futures have all driven up the market. Volumes increase massively on down days.

Unemployment still increasing, foreclosures still happening at record levels, and commercial real estate continuing to implode means rough times ahead for banks still. Better get ready for TARP 2 ..........

Family feud: Nancy Pelosi at odds with President Obama
Politico, by Mike Allen & Patrick O'Connor

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s increasingly public disagreements with President Barack Obama are a reflection of something deeper: the seething resentment some Democrats feel over what they see as cavalier treatment from a wounded White House. For months, the California lawmaker has been pushing Obama hard in private while praising him in public. But now she’s being more open in her criticism, in part because she feels the White House was wrong — in the wake of the Democrats’ loss in Massachusetts — to push the Senate

Oh boy
Even republicans are getting tired of the airhead:

Palin's Poll Numbers Hit Historic Lows, Even Among GOPers

Evan McMorris-Santoro | February 11, 2010, 8:12AM

Sarah Palin has upped her national profile in recent weeks, but a new poll shows that the extra attention hasn't done her any favors. In the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, the amount of people with a favorable view of Palin has dropped to its lowest point ever recorded by the pollster. More than 70% of respondents said she's not qualified to be president.

Palin's numbers don't improve much when just Republicans are asked to give their opinion of her, the poll found.

The Post reports just 45% of conservatives consider Palin qualified to move into the Oval Office. Last November, 66% of conservatives said she was qualified.

Only 37 percent of Republicans have a "strongly favorable" view of Palin. Among all Americans, her overall favorable/unfavorable split is 37/55, the lowest it's been since ABC and the Post added her to national polls in Sept. 2008, when John McCain made Palin his running mate on the GOP ticket.

"Although Palin is a tea party favorite," the Post reports, "her potential as a presidential hopeful takes a severe hit in the survey."
