Hypocrite: Obama Apologist Chris
Rock Suddenly Upset About Campaign Money Inequality

Breitbart's Big Hollywood, by Christian Toto

Chris Rock didn't raise a ruckus over then-Sen. Barack Obama outspending Sen. John McCain in the 2008 presidential campaign.

The comedian is known for his gift of gab, but he couldn't find any punch lines to wrap around the disparity.

Now, with Obama trailing Mitt Romney in the war chest department, Rock is suddenly wishing the political system offered campaign cash equality.

Rock shared his new-found concerns with the crew at "CBS This Morning:"

“I wish we didn’t have to stoop to this level. I wish they made it like a real fight. I mean, we’re watching the Olympics right now and everything is fair,” the comedian said on “CBS This Morning” on Thursday. “I wish both guys could only spend the same amount of money and let the best man win.”

Hilarious MSM Spin: Paul Ryan Doesn’t Have Enough “Private-Sector Experience” To Be President
Image
They do realize Obama hasn’t spent a single day in the private sector, right?

Quote:
The Drudge Report singled out political writer Ryan Lizza of The New Yorker as having the unintentionally hilarious first spin on the reported pick of Paul Ryan to be Romney’s running mate. Lizza immediately started to “tally the risks.”

“For one thing, Ryan has no significant private-sector experience,” he wrote. He wrote this with zero ackowledgment of Obama’s private-sector experience scooping mint-chip at Baskin-Robbins. If the rest of the media follows this line, this is going to be shamelessly biased.

Obama: 'Chicago Is an Example of
What Makes This Country Great'

Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

In campaign remarks yesterday at the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago, Illinois, President Barack Obama praised his adopted city, where he lived before becoming president of the United States. "Chicago is an example of what makes this country great," Obama said. His audience applauded.

President Obama's proof for his assertion? The donors in the room, who had given to his reelection campaign. "Witness this room," Obama said. And he elaborated: "[W]e've got everything we need to make things work here in America. We still have the best workers in the world. (Applause.) We've still got the best entrepreneurs in the world. We've got the best colleges, the best universities, the best scientists, the best researchers. We're a young nation, and we've got the greatest diversity of talent and ingenuity from every corner of the globe."

But what President Obama did not address is Chicago's homicide rate, one of the highest in the nation.

"[M]ore Chicago residents -- 228 -- have been killed so far this year in the city than the number of U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan - 144 -- over the same period," the Huffington Post noted in June.

Choice Of Carter As Convention Speaker Decried
Jewish Press

Former president Jimmy Carter, who has garnered much criticism in recent years for his harsh words about Israel, will address the Democratic National Convention in prime time.

The Democratic National Convention Committee and Obama for America announced that Carter will speak Sept. 4 via video on the second day of the convention in Charlotte, N.C.

“President Carter is one of the greatest humanitarian leaders of our time and a champion of democracy around the globe,” said convention chair Antonio Villaraigosa, who also called the former president “a lifelong champion of human rights and investments in education and energy.”

He said that Carter “will provide unique insight” for economic recovery.

Abraham Foxman, national director of Anti-Defamation League, sharply criticized the invitation.

President Obama Takes Questions From People Mag, Entertainment Tonight, Disses White House Press Corps
Image
You don’t think he’s avoiding them, do you?

Quote:
President Obama hasn’t formally taken questions from the White House press corps in more than two months, while on the campaign trail in Iowa yesterday he made time for reporters from People Magazine and Entertainment Tonight.

His last news conference was at the G20 in June, when he answered six questions from three reporters on the European debt crisis, the conflict in Syria, and the notion of politics stopping at the water’s edge.

The White House press corps has not formally been given the opportunity to ask questions of the president on U.S. soil since his appearance in the Briefing Room on June 8 (when he said “the private sector is doing fine.“)

His last formal White House news conference was on March 6.

The president answered a shouted-out question about the shooting at the Sikh Temple on August 6, after the signing of “Honoring America’s Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act of 2012.”

Secret Service bought cupcakes to
thank baker for turning down Biden

Washington Examiner, by Joel Gehrke

Secret Service officers associated with Vice President Joe Biden bought a pile of cupcakes from the baker who refused to host Biden at his shop — and they did so out of gratitude.

It’s a startling news nugget at the bottom of a local report. “[S]hortly after Crumb and Get It told Biden’s advance people ‘no’ — the secret service walked in and told [owner] Chris McMurray ”Thanks for standing up and saying ‘no’ — then they bought a whole bunch of cookies and cupcakes,” according to the Valley Reporter (Va.).

McMurray refused to host the Biden entourage as a protest of Obama’s comment, made in the nearby town of Roanoke, that “if you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.”

The Secret Service’s purchase proved to be a herald of things to come, as Virginia locals rewarded McMurray with a rush of business this morning. The bakery ran out of food by 1:15 pm.

Obama's newest raffle:
A good convention seat

USA Today, by David Jackson

President Obama's campaign is raffling off a really good seat at next month's Democratic convention -- right next to first lady Michelle Obama during the president's acceptance speech.

"The campaign will fly you and a guest to Charlotte and cover your hotel for the three nights you're there," Mrs. Obama said in an e-mail to supporters. "And each night, you'll get some of the best seats in the house to watch the big speeches."

She added: "You'll meet Barack, and during his speech on Thursday night, I'd like you to sit with me."

Republicans Mock Obama
for Softball Interviews

ABC News, by Devin Dwyer

Republicans are taking President Obama to task for evading public questioning by the White House press corps for more than eight weeks,
while instead granting a series of interviews to entertainment media outlets with whom he discussed largely frivolous subjects. A new web video by the Republican National Committee asks, “why is Obama avoiding the White House press corps?” It features a clip of Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt insisting that the president has fielded substantive questions

BREAK

The president fielded no substantive questions on news of the day or matters of policy. Instead, he discussed his favorite type of chili, iPod playlist, a desired superpower, and Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit single, “Call Me Maybe.”

An on-screen graphic in the RNC ad reads: “THIS IS NOT A PARODY.”

Obama: ‘Nobody accused Mr. Romney of being a felon’
Examiner

First of all, nobody accused Mr. Romney of being a felon,” President Obama said during a rare conversation with the White House press corps.

Obama was defending his campaign from charges that he is being too negative. “We point out sharp differences between the candidates, but we don’t go out of bounds,” he added.

Obama’s campaign spokeswoman raised the possibility that Romney committed a felony on documents pertaining to his career at Bain Capital.

“Either Mitt Romney, through his own words and his own signature was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the SEC, which is a felony, or he was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the American people to avoid responsibility for some of the consequences of his investments,” Stephanie Cutter told reporters in July.

Obama Says He Doesn’t Take SEAL Groups Working To Defeat Him “Seriously”
Image
Wrong answer.

Quote:
President Obama said Monday that he isn’t too worried about two groups of military veterans running campaign ads against him.

Last week, two groups — Special Operations Speaks and Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund – formed to criticize Obama on national security policy, the Osama bin Laden raid and intelligence leaks.

“I don’t take these folks too seriously
. One of their members is a birther who denies I was born here, despite evidence to the contrary,” Obama told The Virginian-Pilot. “You’ve got another who was a tea party candidate in a recent election.”

“This kind of stuff springs up before election time,” Obama said.

A quick on-the-road communication from a longtime D.C. political operative rips the cover off of what is being reported as a surprise visit by President Barack Obama to the daily White House press briefing. This was no surprise visit – it was a carefully planned and staged event with the complicit cooperation of White House approved media figures all intended to gain political points by reigniting the now old and tired “war on women” ploy.

Obama's unique strategy: Trail Romney
in money, then seek smaller crowds

Investor's Business Daily, by Andrew Malcolm

Obviously, Mitt Romney's selection of Paul Ryan as running mate and their unfolding attack on Democrats robbing Medicare to pay for ObamaCare is forcing a major shift in President Obama's reelection campaign.

As both parties approach their national conventions, Obama is, if you believe his aides, adopting a somewhat unorthodox strategy. Reporters traveling with Obama on his flub-filled, three-day trip across Iowa last week, which we wrote about here, began noticing that the crowds coming out to hear the Democrat for the 79th time were noticeably smaller than on previous trips.

But smaller crowds appearing to see an incumbent president is all part of the new plan, Obama aides maintain. Apparently, Obama's team is intentionally working hard to minimize the turnout of supporters at such events. And it's working.

Campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki, sought to explain the counter-intuitive approach for a campaign seeking to connect with the maximum number of voters:
