CLEVELAND — We are getting our first look inside the Occupy Cleveland movement. NewsChannel5 exclusively obtained video of the recording by an independent documentary producer. One of the central characters in the video is Connor Stevens. He identifies himself in the video as an Occupy Cleveland participant.

In the video, Stevens is recorded as saying, “It’s been really good, there’s been a lot of stress and frustration but all around it’s been a really good experience. Within the first day there was so much information that my mind was boggled. My favorite part is meeting people walking down the street, average people, talking to them, hearing about how they’re affected by the economy, by the justice system, things like that. . .”

. . .But now, the justice system has caught up with Stevens. He’s at the center of what the FBI called a national security threat. He’s one of the five people charged with attempting to blow up local the Route 82 bridge in last week over the Cuyahoga Valley National Park between Brecksville and Sagamore Hills.

But in the interview recorded last fall, Stevens is heard describing a past conversation with a friend. Stevens suggested he’s changed his view about using violence to achieve the goals of the group.

“We were saying two years before that we would have been kicking out windows and stuff like that. Back in like 2008, I was at that state of mind and now I’m understanding that we’re in it for the long haul and those kind of tactics just don’t cut it. And it’s actually harder to be non-violent than it is to do stuff like that,” Stevens said.

Despite the bank's $2 billion trading loss, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon still has the support of the company's stockholders. Today at the company's annual meeting shareholders voted to approve his multi-million pay package.

The company awarded Dimon, 56, $23 million last year, one of the few CEOs of U.S. banks who did not take a pay cut.

Obama Has Over $500,000 in JPMorgan Chase Account

President Obama has assets valued between $500,000 and $1 million in a JP Morgan Chase checking account, according to financial disclosure forms released by the White House today.

Obama, who also has between $1,000 and $15,000 in a separate JPMorgan Chase account, recently called JPMorgan “one of the best managed banks there is,” despite its recent controversial $2 billion trading loss.

“This is the best or one of the best managed banks. You could have a bank that isn’t as strong, isn’t as profitable making those same bets and we might have had to step in and that’s exactly why Wall Street reform is so important,” the president told ABC’s “The View” in an interview that aired Tuesday.

All of that daily pouting and shouting can really wear on a soul, they say. And the best way to deal with it is to have a good cry.

One document published by Occupy Chicago, titled “Responding to Trauma in Protests and Mass Mobilizations: Supporting Yourself and Others to Cope with Traumatic Incidents,” begins:

“Factors that place us at greater risk for post-traumatic stress are having a history of abuse, not getting support that we need from our allies, and being separated from others, either during or following the action. Because abuse is pervasive in this culture, learning to heal from and integrate our traumatic experiences in action can empower us to live our lives more fully every day.”

Occupy Chicago explains the warning signs in another document titled, “Crisis Fact Sheet: 10 Ways to Recognize Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder,”

Feeling “emotionally numb.”
Crying uncontrollably.
Isolating oneself from family and friends and avoiding social situations.
Relying increasingly on alcohol or drugs to get through the day.
Feeling extremely moody, irritable, angry, suspicious or frightened.
Feeling overwhelmed by what would normally be considered everyday situations and diminished interest in performing normal tasks or pursuing usual interests.
Feeling guilty about surviving the event or being unable to solve the problem, change the event or prevent the disaster.
Feeling fears and sense of doom about the future.

All of those pretty much describe the Occupy crowd. But the self-important audacity of Occupy shines through in another document, titled “Trauma and Healing. It calls for a healthy dose of self-pity and weeping to overcome the effects of PTSD.

(PROVIDENCE, R.I.) — Dozens of members of Occupy Providence demonstrated Saturday afternoon outside the Rhode Island Convention Center, site of Netroots Nation, a three-day gathering of progressive activists, bloggers and politicians that has drawn more than 1,000 from around the country.

Occupy Providence, which began last fall as part of a national movement, focused its attention on former baseball star Curt Schilling’s failed 38 Studios game company, which filed for bankruptcy on Thursday. Rhode Island taxpayers stand to lose more than $100 million.

“No 38 Studios Bailout,” read one of the banners the Occupy demonstrators carried. Among the other slogans: “Tax the Rich!” and “Solidarity, not Austerity!”

US Marshalls have arrested an ex-OWS member on kiddie porn charges. According to the New York Post, Preston Laska, 23, is wanted in Wisconsin on child pornography charges and had a previous conviction for the same type of offense.

The Marshalls found Laska hiding out in the Hell’s Kitchen section of New York City. The Marshalls found out he was in NYC from his participation in OWS, after he was arrested for sleeping on the sidewalk and released before his fingerprints were confirmed.

A protest by any other name is still a protest. But not all protests are an occupation.

Two months after the major group planning to protest the Democratic National Convention changed its name, a new and bigger demonstration is being planned for the September event. This time, it's being led by "original" Occupy protesters.

Protest organizer John Penley, among the first to join the Occupy protests in Zuccotti Park, says some Occupy protesters were disturbed by the name change, which turned the "Coalition to Protest at the DNC" into the "Coalition to March on Wall Street South — Building People's Power During the DNC."

The change in nomenclature, he said, let Democrats off the hook.

And so despite the perception that Occupy is more liberal than it is conservative, Penley says his demonstration, "Occupy the Military Industrial Complex," will very much target President Barack Obama.

"We're targeting Obama's out of control military spending," he told Whispers. "It's the key to so many problems in the U.S. That, and the drone strikes on American citizens. And the NDAA. People feel so upset with Obama."
