Just a few weeks ago, the pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA launched a controversial ad that linked Republican nominee Mitt Romney to the death of a woman from cancer. The ad, which was widely denounced by Democrats and Republicans alike, now appears ironic since Obama’s convention will displace cancer patients.

"The United States is concerned about both the verdict and the disproportionate sentences handed down by a Moscow court in the case against the members of the band Pussy Riot and the negative impact on freedom of expression in Russia.

We urge Russian authorities to review this case and ensure that the right to freedom of expression is upheld."

But Tolokonnikova and Samutsevitch are not a couple of innocent little "babes in the woods." Tolokonnikova previously took part in public group sex (while she was nine months pregnant) at a Russian museum in a stunt labeled as "performance art." Both Tolokonnikova and Samutsevitch were previously affiliated with the "performance art" group Voina, which has a reputation for performing gross and obscene acts in public.

The Left is fond of bemoaning “too much money” in politics. President Obama complained just a few weeks ago that “Money has always been a factor in politics, but we are seeing something new in the no-holds barred flow of seven and eight figure checks … they fundamentally threaten to overwhelm the political process over the long run and drown out the voices of ordinary citizens.”

But if it’s a massive cash infusion from your favorite pop music and R&B stars and their friends? Well, break out the champagne! Obama and his celebrity pals Beyoncé and Jay-Z (or as he called them tonight, “Bey and Jay”) literally popped bottles at NYC club 40/40 — raking in $4 million at $40,000 a ticket. The Obama fanboys and fangirls on Twitter who would normally be spreading class-warfare propaganda called a ceasefire in order to cheer the high-dollar donors on.

RACHEL MADDOW: Because the “Let Detroit go bankrupt” headline you feel like was inappropriate?

LETTERMAN: Well, the fact the President is invoking it and swearing that he was right and that Romney was wrong and I thought, well, he’s the president of course he’s right. Well, it turned out no, he was taking liberties with that.

If you want your President to be telling the truth, then it’s time for a new President. And when a Democrat has lost David Letterman, and when Letterman tells people that the Republican was more honest than the Democrat, that is going to leave a big mark on Obama’s efforts to woo low-information voters, the very people Obama is trying to woo with his appearances on Entertainment Tonight, the late-night comedy shows, and MTV.

Who knows? Maybe Jay Leno will ask Obama a couple of tough questions tonight about his misrepresentations in the debates,
