There's trouble in Vatican City...With a capital "B," And that rhymes with "P" and that stands for pope!

Italian priest burns photo of Benedict during Mass
Quote:
VATICAN CITY (Reuters)- - An Italian priest set fire to a photo of Pope Benedict during Sunday Mass in protest against his abdication, telling a shocked congregation that the former pontiff had abandoned his flock.

Closer to home, and much more relevant to Reege-tards and Reej-ects, there are two stories about wayward NWI educators. In the first, a violent brute of a Lake Station teacher assaulted his students fragile sense of self-esteem by using school property (a blackboard) to write that his students were idiots. Further, in defiance of the school's zero-tolerance policy, he threatened them with firearms. How anyone, let alone a veteran educator, could even joke about this sort of thing in light of the horrific events at Newtown, Connecticut, defies explanation. Finally, he challenged them to "try him". The psychological damage done to these precious children is incalculable. Why, one would almost think that Sparks Hein decided to try his hand at teaching for a day.

The second story spotlights the an educator from the prestigious Crown Point school system and his denial of inappropriate conduct with an impressionable young girl. This guy was a softball coach (is there boys' softball in Indiana?) who left the school when the delicate young thing's accusations came to light. Why would he leave if he wasn't guilty? Educational orthodoxy teaches us that females never lie about this sort of thing, right?

I am at a loss to comprehend how individuals like this slipped through the highly selective teacher licensing process. I call upon all responsible educators and teachers' union representatives (including retirees), to condemn these two bullies in the harshest possible terms. Its for the children after all, and they are our most precious national resource. No one wants to take these teachers' target revolvers or hunting rifles away, but if they are to be allowed within 2,000 feet of any school or child, they should be accompanied by a law enforcement officer. Further, every single room and closet of every school needs to have video cameras rolling as long as there is a single person in the building. I don't know how any teacher could object to this. If it saves just one child, it will be worth it.

...and gee thanks the downstate rethuglicon rubes he could have legally kept his gun in his car at work...and they also wanted to legalize teachers carrying guns in school...Ya...normal people ...

Another story about education which is far closer to the hearts of Reege-tards and Ree-jects ran in the paper this morning, this time about whiny teachers peeing and moaning over raises for administrators. It seems Lake Central school district administrators have given themselves a well-deserved $200,000 raise and greedy teachers are for some reason upset about this. Just a few months ago, educators, municipal employees, yoo-nyun types, and retirees clogged the streets of Indianapolis screaming for the privilege of paying higher taxes. Now, in a way, they get to do so and they are unhappy about it. If you break this raise down, like any good Lake County Democrat would, and gave just 200 teachers (not support staff, custodians, etc.) each a $1,000 dollar increase, it comes out to less than $20 per week--less than the cost of a tank of gas. Who wouldn't pay an extra $20 per week for competent, well-rounded administrators? You just can't seem to keep teachers happy, no matter what you do.

Rambling totally off topic...

Hey rube...find the correct thread for your rambling...Funny all you do is rant and rave about living in Lake County...Why do you care...There are plenty of other threads you can bitch about the county you live in (personally I think you live right in the middle of LC).

Or do you live in Jasper County:

Quote:
The County Council voted 6-1 in favor of adopting an ADDITIONAL 1.55% county income tax. Dianne Richardson voted against 1.25% of the taxes. This makes the Jasper County Local Income tax rate equal a total of 3.05%.

No complaining about that?

Or is it Porter County:
Quote:
VALPARAISO:| Adjusted gross income tax: 8.5%

No complaining about that?

Or is it Newton County:
Quote:
In Newton County the average tax bill for all taxpayers increased by 4.0%

No complaining about that?
Why don't you grow some and tell everyone in what county you reside in?...

Now, I'm no professional educator, but don't the rules of grammar dictate that you don't end a sentence with a preposition? Were you to run that by the head of the English department at Lake Central, he might suggest you write: "Why don't you grow some and tell everyone in which county you reside?"?

I'd tell you, but I am afraid that a hit squad of paunchy, balding George Costanza look-a-likes on Harley full-dressers and Honda Gold Wings would hunt me down and make me ashamed of my own association with H-D.
