Quote: Another embarrassing Obama appointee Dallas Morning News, by Mark Davis
As everyone weighs in on what President Barack Obama should do about his shocking Nobel Peace Prize (Answer: Accept it graciously and defer credit to the real peacekeepers, the U.S. military), there is a more pressing matter for this White House as it navigates through issues large and small.
Might this administration develop some semblance of a filter to prevent the appointment and elevation of embarrassing radicals?
I know "radical" is a term wielded often to describe the president himself, in light of vast new spending and government overreach, a crowd of insufficiently accountable "czars" and a stated wish to "reshape" America, apparently in a neo-socialist European mold.
But Obama looks positively mainstream compared to some of the characters that keep cropping up from the bowels of offices we usually don't notice.
The White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs was a non-issue until we learned of the beliefs of its administrator, Cass Sunstein, including the right of animals to have legal standing in courts of law. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent ... b5c8a.html
