Obama White House to host 50,000 visitors at 28 parties in December
Chicago Sun-Times, by Lynn Sweet

WASHINGTON--As Congress and the Secret Service probe how Tareq and Michaele Salahi gained entrance to President Obama's state dinner last week without being on the guest list, I've learned that the Obama White House has 28 holiday parties planned over the few weeks with more than 50,000 people expected. And social office staffers--who were not posted near the entrance to check off guests coming into the state dinner--now will be more visible at the upcoming events.

In the wake of the party crashing incident, I asked Camille Y. Johnston, the communications chief for First Lady Michelle Obama about the heavy upcoming party season, kicking off this week.

"This holiday season more than 50,000 people will visit the White
House's 17 holiday parties and 11 open houses. Social Office staff will
be present to continue to assist guests and the United States Secret
Service should any confusion arise. As always, the United States Secret
Service will provide security and will control who has access to the
White House grounds."

The state dinner involved just 320 guests--plus the Salahis.

Nancy Pelosi spends $2,993 on flowers

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) spent $2,993 in taxpayer money on flowers between June and October. House Majority Whip James Clyburn has a thing for Chantilly Donuts, spending about $265 at the Virginia shop in the past quarter. And Rep. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), a fiscal conservative, decided to give about $2,000 in unused office funds back to the government to help reduce the deficit.

These expenditures – culled from thousands of line items released Monday by the Chief Administrative Officer of the House – are just a fraction of the $300 million spent last quarter by House offices. But while the bulk of congressional office spending goes to salaries and routine office expenses, some of the line items offer a window into the personalities and priorities of each congressional office.

Pelosi, who has come under fire in the past for spending on flowers, also spent roughly $30,610 in food and beverage and about $2,740 on bottled water, contributing to the nearly $120,531 total from all congressional leadership accounts.

D.C. agency buys massages for 40 employees
By: Michael Neibauer

November 30, 2009

Mayor calls the expense 'inappropriate'

The District's Office of Unified Communications used its government-issued charge card to buy $900 worth of massages for its staff, an expense even Mayor Adrian Fenty deemed inappropriate.

The massages were charged to an OUC purchase card on Oct. 25 and listed under "Spas - Health & Beauty," according to monthly data provided by the Office of Contracting and Procurement. Sources say about 40 of the OUC's staff, including 911 call takers, were chosen to receive a massage based on the quality of their work. Nichole Jefferson, a D.C.-based massage therapist, was hired for the job.

1. How does the number of parties at the White House this December compare to previous years?

2. Massages - cheaper than $50 Christmas bonus. I would have appreciated one of those.

Michelle Obama Has 26 Paid Assistants, More Than Any First Lady In History
October 29, 2009 · Filed Under Politics

michelle obama

According to Canada Free Press, Michelle Obama has more paid assistants than any First Lady in U.S. history. The total combined salaries of her 26 assistants is $1,750,000 per year paid for by tax payers. That does not include the cost of the lavish benefits package each one also receives.

When compared to past First Ladies, Michelle Obama is so far out of the norm it’s actually stunning.

Hillary Clinton = 3 assistants

Laura Bush = 1 assistant

Jackie Kennedy = 1 assistant

Michelle Obama = 26 assistants

Work-Life Balance a Challenge, Says Michelle Obama, But Having White House Staff Helps
Washington Post

First lady Michelle Obama called her "current life" in the White House "a very blessed situation, because I have what most families don't have -- tons of support all around, not just my mother, but staff and administration. I have a chief of staff and a personal assistant, and everyone needs that."

"Everyone should have a chief of staff and a set of personal assistants," Obama said with a laugh as she spoke before a crowd of business executives meeting today during a "Corporate Voices for Working Families" conference at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington.

Freeloader doesn't even thank the poor saps stuck paying the tab for her ''staff''....

if this selfish woman wants to help ''working families'' she can tell her husband to stop taxing them into oblivion...

I'm dreaming of a White House Christmas: Michelle Obama shows off her lavish decorations
Daily Mail (UK), by Mail Foreign Service

For most people, a single Christmas tree, a string of lights and some baubles are enough. If you're the Obamas, however, decking the White House halls with boughs of holly was always going to require a little more work - 3,400 man hours to be exact. The US President and his wife are celebrating the festive season with recycled ornaments, natural materials and, of course, a gingerbread White House.

hard to keep track of all the lavish things we pay for that the Obamas are showing off....

ABC Details Obama's $4,000/day Christmas Vacation
NewsBusters, by Brad Wilmouth

Imagine the outrage if any Republican President went on vacation during a recession and spent $4,000 a night on accommodations. On ABC’s Good Morning America Wednesday, correspondent Yunji de Nies seemed to suggest that President Obama’s family will be spending such an amount renting expensive living space at an estate house in Hawaii for a two-week Christmas vacation. De Nies: "Christmas trees here aren't cheap – neither is staying in this $8.9 million house, which runs $4,000 a night. The Obamas rented this one and the two next door for family and friends. When you spend that kind of money, people pay attention to detail."

De Nies did not specify exactly how much is being spent or where the money is coming from, though the amount may even be significantly more than $4,000 a day as she related that "the two next door" were also being rented for family and friends of the Obamas. The ABC correspondent also recounted that the estate house overlooks a beach popular with royalty: "But it's the master bedroom and its breathtaking view that is the crown jewel. Kailua Beach has been ranked the island's best, a favorite of Hawaiian royalty."

Anchor George Stephanopoulos gushed over Obama's plans for a two-week getaway to Hawaii as he introduced the report:

When I last interviewed President Obama in September, he was already pining for his Christmas vacation -- two weeks of sun, shaved ice and surf in Hawaii. Well, it's finally here. Delayed just a little bit by that health care vote, but it's gonna come tomorrow morning. Then the President is taking off. One other big perk of the trip, a magnificent beach house his family is staying in for the second year in a row.

Below is a complete transcript of the piece from the Wednesday, December 23, Good Morning America on ABC:

First lady of fashion's sexy look is blue stately
New York Post, by Serena French

Talk about making waves! First Lady Michelle Obama caused a stir at the White House state dinner with a stunning new look more fit for a screen siren than a first lady. Her new tousled do was fresh, modern, red-carpet goddess instead of helmet-haired Washington wife. Her shimmering peacock-blue, one-shouldered gown by designer Peter Soronen was all showbiz. And by boldly cinching it with a trademark rhinestone belt, Mrs. Obama was showcasing her creativity, confidence and fashion cred.

LOL!!!!!!!

But then you realize it's NOT funny because our economy is in shambles, people are losing their jobs and their homes and their retirement to pay for the shenanigans of these ghetto parasites and they parade around flaunting of wealth with the designer gowns, $5,000 purses, $500 dollar sneakers, and $250,000 pizza nights among other assorted ridiculous crapola while the country suffers and these pretenders tell us we have to ''tighten our belts'' during one the worst recessions we've seen in decades is of the worst taste.

I hope it catches up with each and every thieving pos in this administration and come November they'll begin losing their jobs, their homes, and they'll know the feeling of what it's like not to be able to feed their family.

What to Eat on a $17,600 Date With the President

President Obama hosts a star studded dinner at the Getty mansion with a menu to match
By SAJID FAROOQ

So what does $92,000 an hour buy you in food? If you're President Barack Obama it gets you a plate full of hors d'oeuvres, a salad and ribs.

Mr. Obama's 19-hour whirlwind Bay Area fundraising trip filled Sen. Barbara Boxer's wallet with $1.75 million and he used a $17,600 a person dinner at the Getty Mansion in San Francisco to bring in the big bucks.

The president's 80 dinner guests were treated to an elaborate meal prepared by chef Jennifer Johnson, according to SF Gate, who got the scoop on the menu.

Diners were treated to quail egg with caviar and salmon ceviche with jicama and avocado on a tortilla chip
as their starting hors d'oeuvres. Next they were served a spring onion-asparagus tartlet with Meyer lemon vinaigrette-dressed frisee salad

The main course was braised Kobe beef short ribs with potato puree and a salsa verde-topped spring vegetable ragout. And the evening was topped off with buckwheat crepes with roasted cherries and almond ice cream.

Of course guests were given the opportunity to smile and take a picture with their favorite fundraising president. Worth the $17,600 price tag? You tell us.

Obama Wastes Millions of Taxpayer Dollars on Personal Entertainment
Canada Free Press, by Fred Dardick

The same hypocrite who says our energy costs must “necessarily skyrocket” to fund his political ambition, is giving Marie Antoinette a run for her money when it comes to spending national treasure on personal luxuries.

While much of the country is struggling to pay their bills, the President and First Lady are partying like rock royalty. The collection of talent that has made the pilgrimage to the White House to entertain Obama and friends is nothing less than amazing: Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennet, Paul Simon, Marc Anthony, Herbie Hancock, Martina McBride, Queen Latifah, The Foo Fighters, Faith Hill, and recently foot-in-mouth Paul McCartney to name a few.

This has the makings to be the greatest ongoing concert series ever to be seen on this Earth just to entertain one man … all paid for by the American taxpayer.

Let Them Eat Cake

How much does this world-class entertainment cost? Assuming the artists themselves forgo appearance fees, I highly doubt Paul Simon would perform with just a karaoke machine as backup.
Professional equipment needs to be brought in - sound engineers, stages, lights, etc… Even small scale performances by these artists can be very expensive.

Add booze, food, security, invitations, social secretaries, wait staff, and hangers on to the tab and the price for one of these events could easily top $75K. With over 27 concerts hosted thus far, the total cost to taxpayers is in the millions of dollars.

The executive branch does not provide detailed information regarding entertainment expenses, however, it has been estimated the Obamas spent at least $10 million on “drunken White House parties” in 2009 alone.
The Audacity of Food Stamps

Considering the country is at war and a record 40 million Americans rely on food stamps to eat, Obama should show some class and skip the expensive partying.

Whether it’s the world’s greatest concert series, multi-million dollar date night in New York or taxpayer funded shopping in Europe for the First Lady, the Obamas are exposing themselves as nothing more than greedy, self-serving politicians.

While the President and First Lady insist the rest of us endure economic hardship for the greater good, they are living like a king and queen on our dime.

Presidential entourage books all 570 rooms in 5-star Taj Mahal Hotel

To ensure fool-proof security, the President’s team has booked the entire the Taj Mahal Hotel, including 570 rooms, all banquets and restaurants. Since his security contingent and staff will comprise a huge number, 125 rooms at Taj President have also been booked, apart from 80 to 90 rooms each in Grand Hyatt and The Oberoi hotels. The NCPA, where the President is expected to meet representatives from the business community, has also been entirely booked.

The officer said, “Obama’s contingent is huge. There are two jumbo jets coming along with Air Force One, which will be flanked by security jets. There will be 30 to 40 secret service agents, who will arrive before him. The President’s convoy has 45 cars, including the Lincoln Continental in which the President travels.”

Since Obama will stay in a hotel that is on sea front, elaborate coastal security arrangements have been made by the US Navy in consonance with the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard. “There will be US naval ships, along with Indian vessels , patrolling the sea till about 330-km from the shore. This is to negate the possibility of a missile being fired from a distance,” the officer said.

The President will be accompanied by his chefs, not because he would not like to savour Indian cuisine, but to ensure his food is not spiked.

US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are scheduled to land in Mumbai on November 6.

That sounds like a pretty pricey 2 day vacation for 2.
