Post subject: Terrorist Use of Laser Beams to Blind Airline Pilots
PostPosted: Fri Dec 31, 2004 5:13 am
This week the news reported several incidents of someone shining laser beams into commercial airlines cockpits upon landing. The government is acting like it is not a big deal. Bull! They are trying to protect the airline industry. It is a huge deal!

Terrorists can use a laser to burn out the retinas of everyone in the cockpit upon landing! We have the technology right now! A portable device that a terrorist can fire out a car window and drive away. They could cripple our air transportation system and cause massive financial damage.

On August 31, 1995, the United States approved a contract for the production of fifty prototypes of the portable, rifle-mounted Laser Countermeasure System (LCMS), which the U.S. Army states can burn out a human retina from a distance of 3,000.

This was in 1995. Imagine what they have now!

Read this article which the quote above comes from:

Am I being paranoid? I don't want to see another 9/11 take place if we can prevent it!

are you seriously worried about a damn lazer, or are you just trying to be funny. its a lazer, a beam of lighteven if someone or a "terroris" shined a dot the size od a dime into the eye of a pilot from the ground it would take a long time to burn out the retna. if terrorist are that good with there eye sight maybe we should be fearing the constant threat of snipers. this was only reported because of a slow news day. have you heard anything since....????????
