Kieth had the highest rated, most profitable show on MSNBC.
His departure to me means the very well financed righties are escalating their assault on free speech and working class people in this country.

I often think of the words of a very street smart Hammond City Councilman, now deceased, who was also a high ranking official with the United Steelworkers. In the early 80's, he thought the objective of the extremely wealthy was to get us all subsisting on fish heads and rice.
I believe this to be true. The export of many of our jobs had just begun in earnest at that point in time. Part of the game plan, IMO, is to control the media to convince working stiffs that they have no right to things like Social Security or a living wage.
And if they can't hound guys like Olberman off the air, hell, they just buy the place.

You must have missed this earlier post, freetime. Olbermann was not 'hounded' off the air. The reason given was:

Mediaite is reporting that MSNBC got rid of Olbermann for the same reason that proctologists retire: They got tired of dealing with assholes.

A little balance in the media would be nice though.

And this was a step in the right direction. Get rid of several thousand more like Olbermann and you may almost come close to restoring balance to the media.

We would simply return to a state where placing two perpendicular lines inside a circle on a map will not get you accused of mass murder, and where simply disagreeing with a person of color, or asking that our border laws be enforced, will not get you accused of racism.
