Geeze, apparently Dave is getting upset regarding someone contesting their property taxes... I guess someone who reduced their property taxes from $900,000 to less than $4,000, as long as it is a McDermott puppet, is ok....

Hammond Water Department head Ed Krusa is quoted in the Times today saying properety owners who disagree with their assessments need to hire appraisers to prove their cases.
Krusa, who was a paid consultant to Hammond Mayor Tom McDermott before getting the Water Department job from him, also is a member of the Lake County Board of Tax Appeals.

Funny Krusa should be quoted. HE owns a strip of land that is near the Hammond Water Department. A couple of years ago the value of that land was lowered dramatically. I was told he did not take part in the vote by the Appeals Board.
I see something strange now, although I understand the Lake County websites are out of date. The records say Krusa paid about $200 in property taxes in February, on land valued at $4,400 right here:Property Number Property Type Taxing Unit Tax Year
